Red Earth Estate is Dubbo's only commercial winery and is located on Camp Road, just past the entrance to Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
Their winemaker, Ken Borchardt, has made quality wine at Red Earth from vintage 2001 to vintage 2017, using fruit which has been nurtured and hand-picked from the estate vineyard. From 2018 the fruit will be taken to an award winning winemaker in Mudgee, and Ken will work with the winemaker to continue the tradition of excellent winemaking.
Red Earth Estate has become the focal point of wine in the Dubbo region, receiving numerous accolades. The quality wines available for tasting include Riesling, Verdelho, Frontignac, Moscato, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache. There may be some variations in current release wines from time to time, depending on stock levels.
Red Earth Estate offers wine tasting, morning and afternoon tea, cheese platters with regional produce. Their restaurant is also famous for its dumpling and other real china traditional food like dim sim. They also offer parking for self-contained caravans and motor homes travelling through the region. The winery can also be booked for small family and corporate functions.
