11th Light Horse Caboolture Troop and Military Museum Association Inc.
The 11th Light Horse Caboolture Troop and Military Museum Association Inc, (The “TROOP”) was formed in 1989 by a group of military history buffs with the desire to accurately portray the Australian mounted soldier through re-enactment and uniformed mounted displays.
In 1992 a Military Museum was built in the Caboolture Historical Village, 280 Beerburrum Road, Caboolture 4510, which provide a cafe with light meals and refreshment and all toilet facilities.
The Museum itself is free entry, but mainly unattended and is accessed through the Caboolture Historical Village for an entry fee.
The Troop runs dedicated ceremonies for major public holidays and significant events, such as Australia Day and Flag Day.
The museum has five display cases displaying artefacts from the Boer War, World Wars One and Two, to the Vietnam War, including weapons.
Over the years, the Troop has progressed from a re-enactment and display-oriented Troop to a Museum based organization. The Caboolture Historical Village in itself is well worth a look about.
