Amy Sagar from Tender Funerals will share her organisations accumulated knowledge, working strongly within Community. Shoalhaven Bereavement Services will also represent on this panel.
Traditional practices strengthen Culture and Community, but many of these ways have had to take a backseat. Whilst the importance of Sorry Business might be understood by the wider community in connection with Aboriginal Community, the current legislation and expense governing End of Life add much to the burden of colonisation carried by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Communities.
With NSW Government having just invested in enhancing culturally sensitive end of life care options here on the south coast including support for Waminda, there may be light on the horizon.
