Wander through ancient snow gum forests and along mountain ridges, on this moderate 2km return hike to a lovely lookout that offers unbroken views of Mount Stillwell and Kosciuszko National Park's Main Range. You'll be able to see Australia's highest and third highest peaks, Mount Kosciuszko and Mount Twynam.
From here, you can try a longer walk along an unmarked route to a second lookout at the summit of Mount Stillwell, which is marked by by a trig (four kilometre return walk).
Be sure to check out nearby Snow Gums boardwalk while you're here, to get a snapshot of the Snowy Mountains' unique alpine plants and animals you may spot while you're in the national park. Among them you'll find, native birds, such as Richard’s pipits and nankeen kestrels, or reptiles, such as white-lipped snakes and alpine copperheads. In spring, experience blankets of wildflowers, including billy buttons, eyebrights, marsh marigolds and many species of paper daisies.
