The Paul Bowman Challenge is a two-day Under 9 carnival promoted with the emphasis being on participation, good sportsmanship and encouragement.
The 2024 Paul Bowman Challenge, has attracted 80 teams from all over Queensland. Proserpine will come alive with approximately 4500 players, coaches, helpers and their families.
Named in honour of former Proserpine Junior Rugby League player, Paul Bowman is a legend of the game having played 203 games for the Cowboys between 1995 and 2007. “Bear” as he is affectionately known, captained the NQ Cowboys and represented Queensland on 12 occasions in the State of Origin.
Co-ordinated by Proserpine/Whitsunday Junior Rugby League (PWJRL) held in the Whitsundays each September.
