Only five minutes from the Margaret River town centre in one of the world's finest wine producing regions, Xanadu Wines has evolved over its 30 year history to become one of the area's most spectacular tourism wineries.
Xanadu's late founder, Dr John Lagan, arrived in Margaret River from Ireland in 1968 and in 1977; with a lot of foresight he planted the first 17 hectares of vines, making Xanadu one of the earlier vineyards in the district.
Since its inception over 30 years ago Xanadu has evolved to a state-of-the-art tourism winery, restaurant and cellar door. In August 2005, the Xanadu assets were purchased by the Rathbone family, a winemaking family with a commitment to creating quality wines and in 2006 the property underwent a stunning transformation.
Today Xanadu offers a multi-faceted tourism experience including; cellar door tastings and sales, a la carte restaurant, local produce and merchandise, informal lounge and bar, private dining room with the ability to view the "winery at work", and an onsite chapel and gardens for wedding ceremonies. The focus on creating such a strong tourism facility is backed by a renewed dedication to producing premium award-winning wines.
